One of the easiest, budget-friendly and delicious appetizers you can buy is a fresh baguette. Pair it with a simple butter drizzle, or some olive oil and balsamic, and you’ve got a yummy pre-dinner dish that everyone will love. But, your fresh baguette may not stay fresh for long. If you’re like most people, you get frustrated when your bread turns…well, less than appetizing. Having a stale baguette around the house isn’t doing anyone any favors. You’ll be wishing that your day-old baguette could magically turn into a fresh loaf once again.
But alas, there is a trick that can turn that stale baguette into a perfectly crispy loaf. Justin Chapple, a food and kitchen guru, lets us in on a little secret that will change the way you think about stale bread. Justin hates a stale baguette just as much as we do, and he loves a nice, crispy loaf of bread. Justin’s trick is fast and easy, and requires minimal ingredients. With this ingenious tip from Justin, you’ll be able to transform your own stale baguette plenty of time before your first dinner guest arrives.
First, Justin instructs us to quickly and gently cover the baguette with water. Then, he pops the wet baguette into a preheated 450 degree oven for five minutes. When he takes the baguette out of the oven, the result is absolutely incredible. You really need to see it to believe it!
